However, when Amir was exposed with Keith Jarrett and Oscar Peterson for the first time, he fell in love with jazz in general and the idea of improvising in particular. In 2012 Amir participated in a week long music summer program Rimon School and started to play in different jazz ensembles.
In 2013 he began his studies at CJS, while he was studying and playing with many great musicians in the Israeli musical scene such as Ofer Ganor, Shay Zelman, Barak Mori, Yuval Cohen, Omri Mor, Yonathan Volchok and others. In 2016, Amir was offered a scholarship to attend the New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. He graduated of the New School in 2018.
Since he moved to New York he was exposed to the jazz scene in NY and fell in love with it. During this time, Amir has been performing professionally at notable venues and jazz clubs such as Rockwood Music Hall, Club Bonafide, Red Room, Williamsburg Music Center, Nublu, Silvana, Shrine and others. At the same time, he has had the honor to work with some of the greatest jazz musicians in the scene such as; Sam Yahel, John Hebert, Aaron Parks, Reggie Workman, Doug Weiss, Kevin Hays, Hal Galper, Robert Sadin, Kirk Nurock, Alison Miller, Mary Halvorson and many others.
