Christopher Pitts
Pianist and Composer, Christopher Pitts seeks to transcend the piano and connect with community by engaging with sounds of the African American Diaspora.
Christopher has been featured with Lauren Henderson, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Sara Reich Tap Music Project, Sean Imboden Large Ensemble, Andrew Danforth Quartet and Rob Dixon Triology. Christopher is featured on Evan Drybread Quartets “Tiger Tail” release as composer and pianist which reached the top 20 on Jazz Week charts
Christopher's primary musical expression is with his trio CP3, who recently recorded and released an EP "BE Free" January 2024 during a residency at Cliff Bells. An established entity in Indianapolis you can hear the trios connection every 1st Friday at McGowan Hall at no cost.
Christopher seeks to collaborate with artists to create immersive experiences for the community. Frequently collaborating with Indianapolis Museum of Art he has curated and played music for "The Lume", "We The Culutre", MLK weekend of Love and many more present and future. Christopher has partnered with One Drop art collective on "Undercurrents" and most recently "Folk, Us"
Christopher joined forces with “Clint Breeze and the Groove” in 2017 as keyboardist/co-composer and recorded their debut album and shared the stage with “Durand Jones and The Indications” and “Trombone Shorty”. The band has released 2 studio albums.
