Clara Green

Clara Green is a Swedish jazz vocalist, composer and educator based in London, UK.

Growing up in Stockholm, Sweden, Clara was singing and performing from an early age. She gained classical vocal training through immersion in the strong Scandinavian vocal tradition by attending choir school - a formative experience that has strongly influenced both her vocal and compositional style.

Now based in London, Clara holds a bachelor's degree in Jazz Voice from Middlesex University London (where she studied with Ian Mckenzie and Nikki Iles), and a distinction level Master of Music in Performance (Jazz Voice) from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. During her time at the Guildhall School Clara studied with singers Sara Colman and Brigitte Beraha.

Clara was a long term member of the UK's premier jazz voice ensemble the 'London Vocal Project' led by Pete Churchill. During her time as a member she performed and recorded alongside musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles and Dave Holland.

The 'Clara Green Quartet' is Green's own project, made up of some of the UK's top jazz musicians; Andrea di Biase on double bass, Riccardo Chiaberta on drums and Bruno Heinen on piano. The band is releasing their debut album with Honolulu Records in 2024.
