Georgia Mancio
In March 2021 Georgia releases her 8th album, Quiet Is The Star, co-written with long-standing musical collaborator, the double-Grammy-winning jazz pianist and composer, Alan Broadbent. The release is accompanied by the publication of 'The Songs of Alan Broadbent and Georgia Mancio' – a book of their 33 co-written works to date.
It follows their seminal Songbook (2017), launched at a sold out headline show at Ronnie Scott’s (“unequivocally, one of the gigs of the year” Jazzwise) with subsequent performances across Europe and the US, including famed New York clubs Dizzy’s, Kitano and Mezzrow and international jazz festivals in Rochester (NY), Krakow and London.
In 2019, Finding Home, co-produced with pianist/composer Kate Williams and her acclaimed Four Plus Three ensemble with special guest classical guitarist John Williams, was awarded Best Album in 2020 UK Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
From 2010-2014 Georgia produced her now iconic 'ReVoice! Festival' in association with the Pizza Express Jazz Club. Across 5 multi-venue editions she presented over 160 artists including: Rebecca Parris, Tuck & Patti, Raul Midon, Gregory Porter (his first UK booking), Beady Belle, Carleen Anderson, Carmen Souza, Karin Krog and Diana Torto/Kenny Wheeler/John Taylor and performed 44 sets herself.
Since 2017 Georgia has produced 3 editions of her new series, 'Hang', showcasing her ever- evolving creativity as a curator and collaborative kudos and versatility with artists including Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, Nigel Price, Nikki Iles, Alina Bzhezhinska, Gareth Lockrane, Trish Clowes and Tom Cawley.
Georgia’s other credits include 2019 BBC Proms (soloist and UK Vocal Assembly), Bobby McFerrin, Bobby Wellins, Gwilym Simcock, Jason Rebello, Robert Mitchell, Darius Brubeck, Pat Metheny (lyric approval) and multiple nominations in the Parliamentary, British Jazz and Urban Music Awards.

Subtlety. It's a useful characteristic in many walks of life. It's underused, too. Come Rain Or Come Shine, the first recording from the partnership of singer Georgia Mancio and guitarist Nigel Price, is an object lesson in subtlety, in understated interpretation, in the impact of nuance. It's really rather good. Mancio and Price are well-established performers with growing reputations--Price's Organ Trio won the 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Ensemble, Mancio's third album, Silhouette (Roomspin Records), was one ...

When the road offers two possible paths, the decision to turn left or right can have major consequences. If Georgia Mancio had taken the left-hand path, then she might now be carving out a career in movie production. The cinema's loss was the music world's gain.Fast-forward to 2010 and another pathway ...

Georgia Mancio celebrates 10 years as a professional jazz singer with Silhouette, her third album. The mix of standards and original compositions, delivered in Mancio's light but distinctive voice, and accompanied by some of the finest musicians on the British jazz scene, is a genuine cause for such celebration. Silhouette is innovative, lyrically inventive, risky at times and always rewarding. Mancio's vocal delivery is reminiscent of Anita O'Day's; her enunciation is clear and precise but there is ...

One of the most astonishing albums of the year is Quiet Is the Star, by vocalist Georgia Mancio and pianist Alan Broadbent. Released on Friday, the album is remarkable on several levels. For one, all of the songs are originals, with heartfelt words by Georgia poured over deeply personal melodies by Alan. For another, the collaboration between these two artists is a natural fit and divinely intimate. And finally, their execution is superb—Georgia's beckoning jazz vocals supported by Alan's caring ...
