Turkish Canadian Jazz Guitarist, Composer Orhan Demir was born in Turkey in 1954 on September 29th. He started playing guitar at the age of 14. In 1977 he left Turkey and came to Canada. Some of his earliest influences include the principal groups of the “1970`s jazz-fusion” era and afterwards the 1950`s and 1960`s , jazz stylists (John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Archie Shepp, Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, Django Reinhardt, Charles Mingus, etc..).
