JAZZBAROCK Inspired by all kinds of jazz, jazzrock, prog, rockopera, zeuhl, medieval and classical, electronical vintage, concrete and (indo-european) traditional music, but also ska, funk and blues, Stormvogel invented 'Jazzbarock', which he performs with his group Alter Ego Jazzbarock Consort. The music, mainly based on odd-meter unisono ostinato principles, decorated with odd-scaled melodic mantra's, is often accompanied by an occult medievalogic context and theatre. The music is of modular structure (meaning: the movements and modules can be played in different order each performance).
FESTIVAL DE MUZEN Since the mid nineties Stormvogel is the main force behind crossover events in his region, resulting in medieval mysteryplays and crossover events. With his 'Festival de Muzen', Stormvogel yearly presents an adventurous programme in the field of modern creative jazz, electroacoustic jazz, worldfusion, jazzrock, musique concrete and improvised music. since 2009 located at the yearly Amersfoort International Jazz Festival, Stromvogel invites some of the finest musicians from the Dutch scene into the Bohemian Groove Orchestra, to perform with guest soloists and international artists from the JazzNL event Gateway to Global Jazz.
