Nitai Hershkovits: Call on the Old Wise

Read "Call on the Old Wise" reviewed by Mario Calvitti

Brandon Ross, Vinnie Sperrazza & Gordon Grdina

Read "Brandon Ross, Vinnie Sperrazza & Gordon Grdina" reviewed by Maurice Hogue

It's deep, it's different, it's unique and definitely original--the music of guitarist Brandon Ross & Phantom Station. Off The End is the feature album in this episode. Also new, drummer Vinnie Sperrazza & Apocryphal, the very creative guitar/oud player Gordon Grdina with two different albums, and a bunch of interesting music from Europe: saxophonist Signe Emmeluth ...

Dominik Wania: Lonely Shadows

Read "Lonely Shadows" reviewed by Friedrich Kunzmann

Keith Jarrett's The Köln Concert (1975) may still be regarded as the undisputed milestone in ECM's rich history of solo piano recordings. But that doesn't mean that other landmark albums such as Paul Bley's Open, To Love (1973), Richie Beirach's Hubris (1973) or later releases like Stefano Bollani's Piano Solo (2005) and Marilyn Crispell's Vignettes (2007)—among ...
