Tamara Bodie
With a voice that has been compared to Lalah Hathaway and Blanche McAllistar (Donald Lawrence & Company), Tamara “Tam” Bodie has been an accomplished and sought after background vocalist for more than 20 years, locally supporting a plethora of talented artists, and also blessed to work with and for national Recording Artists like Smokey Norful, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Kierra Sheard, Travis Green, Chris Blue (The Voice Season 12 winner), and the Legendary Celine Dion, among others. Tam debuted her first solo single in April 2017, “Oh God, You’re Amazing”, written by Wayne Bucknor and produced by Kelvin Wooten, both of Huntsville, AL, on Madison Avenue Records. She is a native of Pompano Beach, Florida, but matriculated through and graduated from the prestigious Pine Forge Academy in Pine Forge, PA. Tam has been singing since the age of 4, but her technical knowledge of music originated in the halls of PFA. Tam is perhaps best known to the public as a Top 5 Finalist in Sunday Best: Race to the Stage online competition (2015) and as Champion of the Search for the Best Gospel Singer (2015) on The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, spearheaded by Stellar Award Winner, Vashawn Mitchell. In 2016, She was personally contacted by Tyler Perry Studios to audition for a role in Tyler Perry’s play, “Madea On the Run”. Her heart for ministry, Tam served at her home church Madison Mission Seventh-day Adventist Church in Huntsville, Alabama for over 20 years as a Praise Team Member, Praise Team Leader, Choir Director, and Choir Member. She also served as Worship Leader for The Village Church in Huntsville, Alabama for about 5 years. Most recently, Tam took a leap of faith and relocated to Nashville, TN to further pursue her blossoming career as a professional background vocalist. Beyond the accolades and accomplishments, Tam’s deepest desire is to cultivate her relationship with God and completely live out His purpose for her life. She recognizes that the Lord is the source of all her blessings. It is her passion and desire to be a constant source of encouragement to the world, within and outside of the Body of Christ, as a living billboard for God’s Kingdom.
Tamara is new to the jazz world. Though she has never sung jazz before, she fits the genre like a silk glove. Her new single "Tea" is proof that when a singer of her vocal quality ventures into this style of music success is on the horizon.
