Tihomir Stojiljkovic
A Journey Through the Soul of Balkan Music
In 2019, Tihomir released his debut solo piano album, the first part of a trilogy that introduces listeners to the treasures of Balkan musical heritage, tastefully reinvented for modern times.
Born in Leskovac, Serbia, Tihomir Stojiljkovic embarked on his musical journey at six, playing the accordion and immersing himself in traditional music. By sixteen, he had already begun improvising across various genres on the keyboard, setting the foundation for his future style.
In his early twenties, Tihomir forged a sound that would later be recognized as modern Balkan jazz—a synthesis of his homeland's rich folklore and the spirit of contemporary jazz.
His second album, Solo Update, released in 2022, continues this exploration, offering seven new original compositions recorded on a Bechstein Grand at Tikark Studio.
Each piece dives deeper into Balkan folklore's melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, drawing listeners into a soundscape where tradition and innovation meet.
His ability to blend cultural roots with personal expression has earned him a devoted following, who are further enthused by the release of Solo Upgrade in 2024, the final chapter in his Balkan Trilogy.
