Tom Hurst

Tom Hurst is one of the most experienced percussion educators and performers in the Nashville area. Whether you are a beginning student or a professional player looking to sharpen your skills; Tom has a percussion curriculum that will get you to your next goal.

Offering several lesson options including visiting his private studio at 4015 Ivy Dr. in East Nashville, Monday's, and Friday's onsite at Ensworth School's Red Gables Campus for all enrolled students, or at your personal home location, Tom is committed to making percussion education convenient for his students.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology, and has over 24 years of teaching and performing experience. Tom's teaching & performance resume is extensive: He currently performs with RCA Recording Artist Chuck Wicks, as well as appearing with numerous other national artists including Bucky Covington, Sister Hazel, and the Backstreet Boys throughout his career. Toms is also the Co-founder of WGI World Finalist Infinity Percussion, and Vice President of Pageantry Arts Concepts, a non-profit youth performance education organization. In addition, to these duties, he is substitute teacher with Metro Nashville Public Schools, Kelly Educational Services serving the Nashville private school community, and percussion specialist for Ensworth Red Gables campus teaching the very best young percussion students in Nashville. Performing or educating, Tom brings excellence to everything he touches.

Tom has an exceptional teaching style full of positive feedback, structured lessons and endless enthusiasm that is sure to have you playing better and having fun week in and week out. Tom is a member of the Vic Firth Education team and he proudly represents Pearl Drums, REMO percussion, Zildjian Cymbals. He is also a partner in Total Backline Services, and the studio manager for Tricked Out Tracks @ BNG Studios a full service rhythm tracks for hire/project studio serving clients locally in Nashville, as well as nationally, and internationally via the internet.
