Musician Toolkit

Leverage All About Jazz—the Internet's most advanced jazz platform—to reach our vast network of fans and industry professionals locally or worldwide. From establishing a presence on All About Jazz and Jazz Near You to contacting a staff writer about an album review—it's all here.

Promoting yourself on All About Jazz starts with your musician page. If your musician page already exists in our database, claim it, then update it. Otherwise, create it. The most effective page is a complete page, so upload as much information (photos, events, your discography, your biography, links, audio players, etc.) as possible. For more information, read our primer.

Recommended Services

Upgrade your musician page from standard to premium and get a stylish / ad-free page, a medium rectangle ad that appears across our two websites, control where you sell your music, import your events automatically from Bandsintown and much, much more ($60). Other affordable options include Take Five Q&A ($50), Video of the Day ($50), Featured Album (starting at $150) and Press Release Distribution ($20).

In addition to adding up to six YouTube videos on your standard musician page and adding audio players (Soundcloud), we encourage you to upload a full-length MP3 for Song of the Day consideration. If selected, we'll feature your song on All About Jazz. It will also receive consideration for Song of the Week (newsletter inclusion) and the Song of the Week playlist. Each Song of the Day page includes a "buy" button which drives traffic to a retail store of your choosing.

Complete your album discography and we'll help you sell your music. Learn how here.

Looking for a professionally-written biography, a carefully-crafted press release, or informative yet entertaining liner notes? Your friends at All About Jazz can help. With access to hundreds of writers, All About Jazz can find the right journalist to meet your needs and deliver on time, whatever your assignment.

How it Works

We'll pair you with an experienced writer who has deep knowledge of your music or musical style. You can also request a specific writer from our staff page. Once the writer is chosen for the assignment, the project will begin shortly after payment is made and the deadline is determined. Once the draft is completed, a round of edits occur, the final document is approved, and the document is delivered to the artist. Every press release written by the All About Jazz staff qualifies for our press release distribution program free of charge. Learn more.

Looking for an album review?

Essential steps to album review consideration:

Before contacting a staff writer about an album review, please update your All About Jazz musician page so it is complete. Make sure your biography is current and your page includes the following: links, videos, photos, influencers, tags, and your discography including your new album.

If you're not familiar with our staff, visit our staff directory page and click their style preferences (heart) button. You can also filter our staff by their areas of expertise and interest. Our staff is particular about what they review, so make sure there's a stylistic match. Do not contact several writers at once—rather contact one at a time and wait for a reply. Lastly, reviews are free; no payment is ever required—whether your music is reviewed is strictly up to the discretion of the writer. We do not assign reviews at All About Jazz.
